Appointment Announcement

Michael Boudana,Serge Cloutier,Luc Méthot,Kahina Slimani, Christine Touchette, Ngo Thanh Tung Tran

Several managerial appointments in our CIUSSS were recently approved by the Board of Directors.

Michael Boudana, Associate Director of Technical Services

After joining the Jewish General Hospital as a project manager in 1999, Michael Boudana was given responsibility for the physical operation of the facilities, including managing the building’s main mechanical projects. Over the years, his growing professional experience enable him to become Chief of Operations of the facilities and a specialist in the commissioning of the new critical care pavilion (Pavilion K). During his most recent mandate, Mr. Boudana participated in designing the hospital's expansion project and ensuring its start-up and proper operation. From October 2015 until very recently, he was Coordinator of Physical Installations and took charge of approximately twenty buildings in our network, including rehabilitation centres, long-term care centres and CLSCs. Mr. Boudana has a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (thermopropulsion) from Concordia University.

Serge Cloutier, Associate Director of Nursing

Serge Cloutier has 16 years of management experience at the Jewish General Hospital and in our CIUSSS. For the past three years, he has been a Clinical-Administrative Coordinator in Intensive Care, Cardiovascular and Mother-Child. From 2010 to 2016, he was Nursing Coordinator in the Neonatology Department where, among other accomplishments, he created a mother’s-milk bank and forged a partnership with Saint Mary’s Hospital for inter-hospital transfers. Using a multidisciplinary approach, he also established Code Lavender, which is called in the event of a neonatal emergency. He has occupied several senior positions in nursing at the JGH, including Coordinator in the Emergency Department’s overflow unit from 2005 to 2010. Mr. Cloutier has a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Ottawa and a Master’s in organizational development sciences from Laval University. He volunteers for We Got Your Back, a group that distributes backpacks to the homeless during the December holiday season.

Luc Méthot, Interim Associate Director of the Support Program for the Autonomy of Seniors

Luc Méthot has a wide range of experience in clinical and managerial processes in the healthcare and social services field, especially in relation to programs that help maintain the autonomy of seniors in their living environment (at home or in an intermediate resource). He has a Diploma in health science studies from the University of Moncton, a Bachelor’s degree in health sciences (occupational therapy) from Laval University, and a Master’s degree in management sciences from HEC Montréal. From 2012 to 2014, Mr. Méthot assumed the role of Clinical Activities Specialist (Homecare Rehabilitation) for the SAPA program (areas covered by CLSC Benny Farm and CLSC René Cassin). In 2014, he took on a new challenge by becoming Program Manager of the SAPA program at CLSC Saint-Laurent/Bordeaux-Cartierville, overseeing approximately 80 employees in the sub-programs of home care, rehabilitation and nutrition. In 2016, he was given the same responsibilities at CLSC René Cassin, and later that year, he moved to his new position as Coordinator for the SAPA-CLSC program (at CLSC Park Extension and CLSC Plaza). Among Mr. Méthot’s many honours is a prize from the Order of Occupational Therapists of Quebec in 2008 for best clinical results during his university training. In 2019, to enhance his professional development, he enrolled in the « Programme national de développement des leaders du MSSS-volet cadres supérieurs », which develops future executive leaders in Quebec’s healthcare system.

Kahina Slimani, Interim Associate Director of Integrated Frontline Services

Kahina Slimani began her career at the CHUM in 2002 as a Clinical Nurse in Cardiology, Hemodynamics and Cardiac Surgery. She then moved into frontline services and held various positions, including Head of Program Administration and Assistant Director at the CSSS’s Ahuntsic and Montréal-Nord. She has also served as Director of Care and as Client Services Coordinator for VIGI Santé and CHSLD Vigi Mont-Royal. From 2018 until very recently, Ms. Slimani was Coordinator of the PRAIDA program, the Refugee Health Check and the Asylum and Refugee Claims Clinic. She is currently acting as Deputy Director of Corporate Services for FMG-R-U and Info-Santé/Info-Social. Concerned about the continuous improvement of practices and about the adaptation of services for greater accessibility, Ms. Slimani successfully completed certification and obtained her Lean/Six sigma green belt in 2014. She also has an MBA in business administration and has completed a graduate program in process performance improvement in the healthcare and social services system.

Christine Touchette, Interim Director of Frontline Integrated Services

Ms. Touchette takes on her new position after four years as our CIUSS’s Associate Director of the Specialized Approach to Senior Care (SAPA) - CLSC Component. Ms. Touchette completed her Bachelor’s degree, specializing in sexology, at the University of Quebec in Montreal, and her Master’s degree in social gerontology from the School of Social Work at the University of Laval. From 1999 to 2004, she worked in social intervention at CLSC René Cassin/Quebec Institute of Social Gerontology/Support Centre for Caregivers. She moved to the Constance-Lethbridge Rehabilitation Centre in 2004 as a social worker who helped integrate adults with traumatic brain injury. In 2006, at Saint Anne’s Hospital, Ms. Touchette became Associate Coordinator in education for a Canada-wide strategy to help veterans who were coping with post-traumatic stress disorder. From 2007 to 2012, she worked at CSSS de l'Ouest-de-l'Île, first as Chief Administrator of the Program for Seniors with Loss of Autonomy and Physical Deficiencies, and then as Coordinator of the housing component. She continued with the same focus at CSSS Cavendish in 2012, first as Director of Accommodations and then as Director of SAPA (accommodation and home support). Ms. Touchette studied in a micro-program in organizational management at Laval University from 2007 to 2009. She is also part of the Ministry of Health’s national leadership development program for CEOs, Associate CEOs and senior managers.

Ngo Thanh Tung Tran, Interim Director of the Mental Health and Addiction Programs

Ngo Thanh Tung Tran has been appointed after many years in clinical and managerial positions. He began his career in health care in 1995 as a psychiatric nurse at Montreal’s Sacré-Cœur Hospital, and was promoted during a 10-year period to become Head of the hospital’s Emergency and Psychiatric Intensive Care units. In 2015, Mr. Tran became Interim Unit Head for the CHUM's Ambulatory Psychiatric Services. In that same year, he moved to our CIUSSS, and from then until his recent appointment, he served Associate Director of the Mental Health and Addiction Programs, with responsibility for clinical services in mental health, addiction and psychiatry in hospital and ambulatory settings. Among his achievements was creating a clear definition of the vision, mission and values of his management to mobilize and engage his team and users. Mr. Tran is a strong believer in working in partnerships. He has also developed service offerings, including the Homelessness and Mental Health Reassignment Program, in collaboration with the Welcome Hall Mission, as well as the CDSP (Psychological Symptoms of Dementia) service offer in collaboration with the SAPA team. To carry out these projects, he has set up a steering room with GOLD Leading Edge certification. Mr. Tran holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Montreal and a Master’s degree in organizational development from Laval University.
