Crisis Service

Service provided to adults 23 to 65 years of age, on a short-term basis, for medication and/or support/therapy, to persons referred from emergency, the Screening Clinic, or shared mental health care. Referral to other resources according to needs.

Mood and Anxiety Disorders Service

The Mood and Anxiety Disorders Service is for adults 23 to 65 years of age who need treatment for mood or anxiety disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and other conditions. The goal of the service is to help patients recover from mood and anxiety disorders until a transfer to first-line services is possible.

Adult Psychotic Disorders Service

The Adult Psychotic Disorders Service is for 25- to 65-year-olds with a primary psychotic disorder diagnosis who do not meet the criteria of the FEPP (First Episode Psychosis Program) or the CCC (Continuing Care Clinic). The services it offers are medication management combined with psychosocial interventions. When patients become stable, efforts are made to transfer them to first-line services. The team works in close partnership with teams in the community (LICM and ICM). Requests come from emergency, from other teams, and through the GASMA.

Continuous Care Team (CCC)

The adult Continuous Care Team is for persons 25 and older who have a diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder and need long-term care. Medical care is combined with psychosocial and support interventions. The team works alongside teams in the community (First-Line Mental Health, LICM, ICM and ACT). Requests come from emergency, from other teams, and through the GASMA.

Perinatal Mental Health Services

Perinatal Mental Health Services are for women with mental health issues before or during pregnancy and up to six months following delivery at the Jewish General Hospital. Their mental state is assessed and, if necessary, they are referred to appropriate resources that can offer short-term pharmacological and/or therapeutic follow-up.

Screening Clinic

This clinic is for persons referred to second-line services. First, one must obtain a referral from a family doctor, then go to the GASMA, which refers users to Psychiatry.

Cultural Consultation

This team examines the cultural and social factors that may affect the diagnosis and interventions provided to an individual and makes recommendations to clinical teams. This team accepts referrals from outside the Psychiatry department.

Collaborative Services

Psychiatric consultations are offered to various community partners such as the Goldman Herzl Family Practice Centre and teams covering adult mental health care at CLSC de Benny Farm and CLSC de Saint-Laurent.
