Prenatal classes at the Birthing House

The Birthing Center's prenatal classes are offered by our midwife assistants' team. They are offered in person (course #1 and #2) or in a hybrid format (course #3) at the Côte-des-Neiges' Birthing Center.

Please watch the videos below this page prior to your first prenatal class session. The information provided in these videos is complementary to the courses offered in person.

There will be a series of three classes divided into:

  • Around 32 weeks, you will have a first meeting with a midwife assistant to review all the steps of the delivery and to answer any of your questions about the videos. This course takes place in person, in the afternoon, at the Côte-des-Neiges' Birthing Center. 
  • Around 34 weeks, you will have a second meeting with a midwife assistant to discuss breastfeeding, preparing for the postnatal period and adapting to parenthood. This course takes place in person, in the afternoon, at the Côte-des-Neiges' Birthing Center. 
  • Around 4 weeks postpartum, you will have a third and last meeting with the same birth assistant to share your delivery experiences and have a meet and greet with other parents. You will be able to share your experiences of being a new parent or a parent welcoming a newborn in the family! This course is offered in a hybrid format (in person or videoconference), at the Birthing Center, in the afternoon.

Groups with be formed according to the due dates, you will receive an email from the administrative agent to confirm your inscription.
