Accreditation Canada

Accreditation Canada: December 4 to 9, 2022

Communication is important, if not essential, to the success of the accreditation process. This is the theme of anew series of ROP bulletins issued by the DQTEPE team. The effective transfer of information to users and healthcare teams, throughout the continuum of care, contributes to the continuous improvement of quality and safety for users.

Additional ROP bulletins will follow in the coming weeks. The DQTEPE team encourages you to review them, share them with your teams and test your knowledge by completing the ROP quizzes.

Our CIUSSS is preparing to finalize its accreditation process, which has been under way for the past five years. This process aims for excellence in care and services, and is part of continuous improvement in the quality and safety of care and services. Once again, our organization will have an opportunity to showcase all of the improvements that have been implemented in the recent past.

This evaluation will take place from Sunday, December 4 to Friday, December 9. Visitors from Accreditation Canada will meet with teams from Rehabilitation and Multidisciplinary Services (Physical Disability, Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder), as well as SAPA. The visitors may also request meetings with representatives from other facilities, or they may ask to review the files of other directorates.

To prepare for the Accreditation Canada visit, the DQTEPE team will be holding a simulation. It will allow teams to prepare adequately, become familiar with the accreditation process, and identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.

The simulation on Thursday, September 22, will last half a day in the facilities that will be visited in December—Rehabilitation and Multidisciplinary Services, and SAPA. On September 22, you may bump into a staff member who’s wearing a "Day Visitor" badge and who will invite you to answer a few questions about your daily work. These special visitors will also take notes about the physical environment of your workplace.

Patient experience survey

Until Thursday, June 30, 2022, our CIUSSS will be participating in implementing a survey among users of our facilities. This survey is the result of a collaboration between the MSSS, health care institutions, patient partners, health professionals and Accreditation Canada. The objective is to obtain an organizational measurement of reference for the experience of patients receiving care and services and to have them share their experiences.

Available in English and French, the survey is accessible online and is adapted to computers, tablets and mobile devices. Users, caregivers or legal representatives have a period of four weeks following the care or services to complete the 15–20-minute survey.

To all health care professionals in our network, please invite users to complete the survey, either at the end of a consultation or upon discharge. Please feel free to forward or give one of the attached PDF files with the URL link and QR code leading to the survey.
