Detection and treatment of streptococcus A

PILOT PROJECT TO DETECT AND TREAT STREPTOCOCCUS A

Streptococcus A (commonly known as strep A) is a bacterial infection that can affect adults and children alike, causing a sore throat and other complications, if left untreated. Since early detection is essential in preventing the spread of the infection,  treatment must be started quickly.

Anyone with symptoms—such as a sore throat, fever or difficulty swallowing can be screened at no charge. A rapid screening procedure will be performed by qualified nurses. You will receive your results quickly and, if necessary, advice on follow-up steps will be provided.

Appointments for strep A screening and treatment are available:
