The Stand-Up! program is a FREE 12-week intensive falls prevention program for people 65 years of age and older. The program aims to improve balance, flexibility and physical strength, and to help keep bones healthy and build confidence. It consists of group sessions led by a health and exercise professional (kinesiologist), 2 sessions per week.
Overview of criteria to participate to the Stand-Up! program :
- mobilize without walking aids
- be able to walk a distance of about 200 meters without getting out of breath
- not have had repeated falls in the last year
- not have any major cognitive or motor problems
- be available twice a week for 12 weeks
For the Spring 2023 session, the Stand-Up! program will be offered at the following locations on the territory of the RLS des CLSC Côte-des-Neiges, Métro and Parc-Extension:
