Ministerial visits

The visits to assess the quality of the living environment allow the Ministry of Health and Social Services, working hand in hand with its network partners, to ensure that the healthcare services offered to the home residents promote their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and that the services meet their expectations as well as those of their loved ones. The purpose of these ministerial visits is to ensure that, based on the Minister’s guidelines, the quality of the living environment provided by our establishment fulfills its commitment to create a living environment where the user feels respected. Following these visits, the Ministry of Health and Social Services provides the establishments with a report indicating the positive factors as well as their recommendations for the continued quality improvement in the care and services offered to that clientele.

In our CIUSSS, here are the types of establishments that are subject to the ministerial visits:

  • Long-term care and residential centres (CHSLD): public, private establishment under agreement and private establishment not under agreement;
  • Intermediate Resources and Family-type Resources (RI-RTF), for persons with a physical or intellectual disability and the elderly experiencing a loss of autonomy.

In keeping with the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information, we are pleased to share these quality assessment reports as well as the improvement plans for all of the establishments in our CIUSSS. These improvement plans demonstrate our commitment to our mission to offer high quality services and our culture of transparency, continuous improvement and partnership with our users, their families and all members of our community.
