Vaccination from birth to the age of 3

At the postnatal visit, a nurse gives the parents the dates of the first two vaccination appointments, when the baby is two months old and four months old. Afterwards, it is up to the parents to ensure they continue to make appointments according to the recommended schedule.

If the mother gave birth at a birthing centre or has refused a postnatal visit, she should contact the CLSC in her area to book an appointment. Be sure to have the baby properly vaccinated at the recommended ages.

Abécédaire at 18 months and older

Monitoring your child's development at the 18-month vaccination appointment is a key strategy of the Agirtôt program. At this appointment, in addition to vaccinating the child, healthcare staff at the local CLSC document the child's Abécédaire follow-up sheet (18 months and older). Information is provided by the parent, and additional data is collected during the child's physical examination. This assessment makes it possible to identify signs of developmental difficulties, so that the child can be referred to other resources, if necessary.
