Mobile clinics were originally deployed during the COVID-19 pandemic to offer free vaccination to at-risk individuals in the community. Depending on the need, the vaccines may target a specific outbreak (e.g., measles) or a broader public health need (e.g., seasonal vaccination against respiratory infections).
Mobile clinics visit various locations, including:
- Low-income housing (HLM)
- Community organizations
- Community centres
- Places of worship
- Parks or public places
