Child Psychiatry Program Outpatient Services

Mandate of the team

To offer specialized mental health services to an outpatient population, child psychiatry, services for adolescents / young adults (15.5 to 22 years of age), couple and family therapy, and FEPP (16 to 30 years of age). First Episode Psychosis Program

For young adults who have experienced a first episode of psychosis. These individuals and their families are seen by a team to help improve their overall functioning and manage their symptoms.

Mental Health Services for Teenagers / Young Adults

Mandate of the team

For 15- to 22-year-olds referred through the GASMA or by their CLSC, the inpatient unit, or the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Services offered include: an individual or family assessment and psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy and family therapy follow-up.

Child Psychiatry

Mandate of the team

To offer services to children between three and 15.5 years of age who have difficulty functioning within their families and at school due to mental health issues. Services include groups for parents, family therapy and individual therapy.

Day Hospital

Services offered solely in English (partnership with EMSB), non-sector-specific.

Day program (for five- to 12-year-olds), Early Childhood Disorders Program and Day Treatment Centre for children 15 and under with maturity, behavioural or emotional issues. These children and their families require in-depth treatment that may require pharmacological consultation and treatment, individual and family therapy, assistance with the development of social skills, educational services, psychotherapy, and psychological and/or occupational therapy assessments and interventions.

All recommendations are subject to triage by a multidisciplinary team to determine the program to which the child and family will be directed.
