Role, mandate and independence of the Office of the Medical Examiners

Medical Examiners are appointed and employed exclusively by the Board of Directors of the CIUSSS, on the recommendation of the Council of Physicians, Dentists and Pharmacists (CPDP). They implement the examination procedure whenever a complaint is made against a physician, dentist, pharmacist or medical resident who is a member of the CPDP and practicing his/her profession in the CIUSSS. Each Medical Examiner is responsible to the Board of Directors for the examinations they perform and the conclusions they issue. Medical Examiners investigate any complaint made by a user or any other person, and they work with with the Office the Service Quality and Complaints Commissioner on organizational matters.
