Responsible Conduct in Research

As an institution with a university mission, the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal advocates the deployment of rigorous, quality and responsible research with regard to the principles of scientific integrity and research ethics. The  Policy and procedure for managing allegations of breach of responsible conduct of research (2022) aims to provide a framework for research practices and to support the goal of achieving and meeting the highest standards of research within our institution.

Policy and procedure for managing allegations of breaches of responsible conduct of research

The policy describes responsible conduct in research and the behaviours expected of different actors (researchers, students, research staff, etc.)  while they conduct research activities within our CIUSSS. The expected behaviours stem from key values such as honesty, reliability, rigour and objectivity, impartiality and independence, justice, trust, responsibility and benevolence, openness and transparency. It also describes what constitutes breaches of responsible conduct in research and provides a framework for dealing with allegations of misconduct in responsible research conduct that are reported to the designated authority and that relate to research activities. The policy and procedure for managing allegations of misconduct in responsible research applies to all actors of the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal involved in connection with research activities carried out under the auspices or under the responsibility of the institution.
