Construction notice

Due to renovations at the Jewish General Hospital this weekend, Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road will be closed to all vehicles travelling westbound between Côte-des-Neiges Road and Légaré Street, while eastbound traffic will be limited to one lane. This will last from 7:00 a.m. on Friday, March 1 until approximately 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4.

Since a large crane will be positioned on Côte-Sainte-Catherine between Légaré and Côte-des-Neiges, the entrance to Pavilion G (3765 Côte-Saint-Catherine) will be closed.

The main entrance of the hospital on 3755 Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road will be closed on Friday March 1st from 7:00 a.m. to midnight and on Monday March 4th from 07:00 a.m. to midnight. 

Also please take note of the following.

Hemodialysis

• Patients and other users of this clinic can be dropped off, picked up, and enter and leave the hospital at the door to Pavilion A at 5750 Côte-des-Neiges. Wheelchairs and hospital transport team personnel will be on hand to help patients get to the Hemodialysis Clinic. 

Pedestrians

• Will not be able to use the sidewalk on the north side of Côte-Sainte-Catherine between Légaré and the hospital’s main entrance (3755 Côte-Sainte-Catherine), since this portion of the sidewalk will be closed. However, the rest of this sidewalk will remain open.
• Will be able to use the entire sidewalk on the south side of Côte-Sainte-Catherine.
• Will be able to enter and leave the hospital through the door to Pavilion A at 5750 Côte-des Neiges; the door to Pavilion K at 5767 Légaré; and the door to Pavilion H at 5790 Côte-des-Neiges.
• Motor vehicles will still have normal access to the Emergency Department on Légaré.

Vehicles and parking

• Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road will be closed to all vehicles travelling westbound between Légaré and Côte-des-Neiges from 7:00 a.m. on Friday, March 1, until approximately 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4.
• Eastbound traffic on Côte-Sainte-Catherine will be limited to one lane. 
• Vehicles travelling westbound along Côte-Sainte-Catherine will have to turn left (south) or right (north) at Côte-des-Neiges, and will then have to find parking in the area.

Public transportation

• The eastbound bus on Côte-Sainte-Catherine will remain in service. 
• The westbound bus on Côte-Sainte-Catherine will turn left (south) at Côte-des-Neiges and will then take a temporary route along Dupuis Avenue and Lavoie Street, before it resumes travelling on Côte-Sainte-Catherine. 
• Taxis that usually park along a reserved stretch of Côte-Sainte-Catherine will have to park elsewhere during the construction period, in addition to obeying the other traffic restrictions at this time.

All of the hospital’s entrances will be open throughout the day and night on Saturday, March 2, and Sunday, March 3. 

Police officers will also be stationed at hospital intersections to assist pedestrians and drivers.
